RCE Electrical website design and brand identity by Buzz Design, West Yorkshire

Website Design for RCE Electrical

RCE Electrical is a commercial electrical contractor with a strong track record serving businesses across the United Kingdom. The brief was clear: a website that showcased the company’s services and established its credibility as a trusted partner for commercial electrical work, built around an existing logo design that was to remain the visual anchor for the new site.

The design solution featuring a concentric rings motif drawn directly from the existing logo created an immediately distinctive and coherent visual identity that extended the brand without redesigning what was already working.

Challenges

The commercial electrical sector is competitive and largely undifferentiated online. Most contractor websites present the same services in the same format and rely on the same claims. The brief required something that stood out without sacrificing the professional credibility that commercial clients expect.

Working from an existing logo as the design starting point required genuine creative interpretation — finding a design language that extended the identity rather than simply matching the colours and calling it a system.

Commercial electrical clients have specific credibility requirements: they need to see evidence of relevant experience, appropriate accreditations, and the capacity to handle the scale and complexity of their projects. All of this had to be communicated clearly and early in the visitor journey.

Design Process

The existing logo was analysed carefully and the concentric rings element was identified as the design motif to carry through the site — used in layout elements, graphic devices, and page structure to create a visual language that felt purposely related to the logo rather than coincidentally similar. This approach to logo-led design — finding the generative design idea within the existing identity rather than layering something new on top of it — is one of the more demanding creative exercises in web design.

Service descriptions were written specifically for a commercial audience: clear, specific, and professional. Project showcase pages were developed with imagery and client context to demonstrate capability at the scale RCE Electrical works at.

Testimonials from commercial clients were integrated to build trust, and mobile-responsive design was built throughout, recognising that business decision-makers frequently research contractors on mobile devices during or between site visits.

Solutions

Results

RCE Electrical launched with a website that both reflected their established brand and made a compelling case for their expertise as a commercial electrical contractor. The cohesion between the logo and the wider design system was specifically noted as a success by the client.

The site positions RCE Electrical clearly as a reliable commercial partner rather than a general electrician — a distinction that matters significantly when the client base is businesses managing large-scale electrical projects.

Lessons Learned

Pulling a design motif from an existing logo creates genuine brand cohesion in a way that starting fresh rarely achieves. When the client sees their own logo’s visual DNA carried through the entire site, they recognise the result as theirs immediately.

Commercial trade websites consistently undersell expertise through vague service descriptions. Specificity about capability, sector experience, and project scale builds far more confidence than general statements about quality and reliability.

Removing friction from the first contact is directly linked to lead conversion. A phone number that is easy to find, a click-to-call button that works, and an enquiry form that asks the right questions — these are not design details, they are commercial infrastructure.
